Ragi Flakes Chivda

Dry roast the ragi flakes until they turns crisp.Heat oil in a pan, let splutters the mustard seeds, add the curry leaves, fry it. Now add the raw peanuts,cashews and fry in simmer until they turns brown.Add in the dry roasted ragi flakes, saute everything for few minutes together,put off the stove. Finally add the chilly powder,sugar,salt, toss everything well until everything gets well mixed. Munch this crispy chivda.

Sama Khichdi Recipe

Soak sama millets for 20 mins. Discard soaked water. In non-stick thick bottom kadhai add and heat ghee. Do tempering of cummin seeds add & saute curry leaves,green chillies ginger paste, chopped tomato and potato....Add & saute soaked Sama, salt for few minutes. Add buttermilk,mix well. Cover and cook on slow flame for 10 minutes,in between stirring occasionally. (Add little water if necessary).
Serve Hot Healthy Sama Khichdi in bowl garnishing with chopped coriander leaves and fried peanuts.

Thinai Kara Pongal

Set the pressure cooker to heat gently.Add the green gram dal and roast gently till it acquires a beautiful aroma. Add in the fox tail millet stir and add the water Close the pressure cooker and cook for 3-4 whistles Meanwhile in a small pan, add the ghee , cumin, crushed black pepper, curry leaves and cashew nuts and roast till the cashew nuts turn golden. Add in the asafoetida. Remove from heat. once the pressure is released, open and add the tempering and steam. Mix well, check salt. Serve with sambhar or chutney
